Self Care Isn’t Selfish

What is your biggest regret?

One day I was watching a YouTube video where a woman asked random strangers ‘What is your biggest regret?’. The answers ranged from deep to jokey, but the video got me thinking. For the rest of the day, I pondered what my biggest regret was.

The answer ended up being lot more difficult to process than the question. See, my biggest regret in life is all the time I have spent (and still do) hating myself. The hours I have wasted crying to myself, hating my body. The months that have passed as I hated my own mind.

And as I realized what my biggest regret was, I now have the opportunity to change it.

So many of us have become used to hating ourselves. Its so common that sometimes we don’t even notice. Have you ever wished you were thinner? Wished that you didn’t speak so much or even wished that you weren’t so quiet? We spend so much time wishing we were different but the reality is were not. We were all born unique and your uniqueness deserves your love.

“To accept ourselves as we are means to value our imperfections as much as our perfections.”
